In the Time of Pandemic

And the people stayed home. And they read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And they listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live, and they healed the earth fully, as they had been healed.
~ Kitty O,Meara

Sunday Worship

We will stream our 8am and 10:15 am Morning Prayer service on Facebook Live. If you have a Facebook account, simply go to https://www.facebook.com/allsaintspdx/ at either of these times to participate.

Godly Play

On Sunday, we will be adding a Godly Play class for kids and families at 9:00am on Zoom. Laura Axon will be leading us in the lesson, and kids will be able to interact with their “I wonder…” questions. You can join us by clicking this link, or using the following information:

Meeting ID: 801 290 033

Outdoor Chapel

We also intend to leave the altar and cross that we set up as an “outdoor Chapel,” so that people can come to throughout the day and offer

Keep in Touch

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like to talk, and please let me know if you know of anyone who should be contacted for pastoral care. Also, please let me know if you get to a place where you are lacking the basics, such as food or medicine, either because of financial strain or inability to get out. There are ways that we can continue to take care of each other in the coming weeks while also observing appropriate distance.

Meetings & Ministries

We will also be moving many meetings online and adding some online meetings where we’ll have a chance to talk about what’s going on, pray together, etc. If you haven’t done a Zoom conference online before, you may want to start to get acquainted with this site. Simply follow this link and click on the “Sign up” button. For any meetings that happen, you will be sent a zoom link that takes you to the online meeting.

For our Saturday offerings, the Mustard Seed and St. Francis closet will be closing. However, we are working to make sure we can offer brown bag lunches for our Hot Meals guests.

Though we may be limited in our ability to be physically present to each other, there are still so many ways that each of us can be present — to one another, to what we ourselves are going through, and to the God who made us, loves us and walks with us. I encourage you to pay attention to God’s spirit and presence as you go throughout the coming days and weeks.

God of the present moment,
God who in Jesus stills the storm
and soothes the frantic heart;
bring hope and courage to all
who wait or work in uncertainty.
Bring hope that you will make them the equal
of whatever lies ahead.
Bring them courage to endure what cannot be avoided,
for your will is health and wholeness;
you are God, and we need you.
-Adapted from New Zealand Prayer Book, p. 765

Holding you all in my heart and prayers.

In Peace,
Andria+

Welcome Who We Are Online Worship

Welcome to All Saints – we are a community desiring to transform our lives through following Christ’s healing example of gentleness, humility, compassion, forgiveness, and peace toward all. If you are visiting Portland or if you are looking for a church home with an active intergenerational community, All Saints is a church where you will find a place of quiet reflection, or joyous celebration and fellowship. No matter where you are on your journey of faith, you will find there is a place for you here—just come as you are.

The Rev. Andria Skornik, Rector

The purpose of All Saints Church is to celebrate God’s love, to seek and to serve Christ in all persons, and to go forth into the world rejoicing in the power of the Spirit. Your presence is a blessing regardless of your background, sexual orientation, gender identity, race or ethnicity, age or family structure, abilities or limitations or wherever you are in life’s journey.

All Saints Episcopal Church is a Believe Out Loud Congregation. Click here this link for more information.

Until we can gather in person, we will gather together for Online Worship

We cannot face large-scale crises as individuals; we cannot carry the pain of this reality on our own, nor can we only look out for ourselves. The pain is communal and so too must be the response.
~ Richard Rohr
